Cut Cut Cut, November 2017

During the darkest time of year we sit and go through all the hours upon hours of footage for our series about the male role. Post-its of many colors representing snippets of interview change places and slowly but surely a structure starts to form. We have thoroughly interviewed 8 men from the ages of 26-82 and at times it feels like mission impossible to try and boil down 16 hours of good interview material to three 30min. programs. “It’s like having to chop off an arm and a leg to have to waste so much good material”, Emma says, “maybe we should call the Finnish Broadcasting company and suggest one more part for the series”?
